PJSC “Energomashspetsstal”, Kramatorsk, Donetsk region
Manufacturer of individual and small-scale cast and forged forgings and blanks weighing up to 500 tons, which are then used in metallurgy, shipbuilding, energy and general engineering.
The new electric steelmaking complex DSP-70 was put into operation in 2012 and includes an arc steelmaking furnace with a capacity of 70 tons, a plant for out-of-furnace processing of steel “ladle-ladle” and modern powerful gas cleaning, which ensures European environmental safety of steel production.
The total investment in the modernization of EMSS for 2005-2012 exceeded $ 300 million. The investment was aimed at a complete overhaul of the production base, including steel, forging and thermal and machining shops.
In October 2020, the company received a certificate of compliance of the current environmental management system with the international standard ISO 14001: 2015. The document confirms the ability to manage and control at the level of world standards significant environmental aspects and associated risks arising in the production process.
EMSS carries out internal environmental inspections and laboratory control of the environment (performed by the laboratory of industrial sanitation and nature protection).
In accordance with the approved plans-schedules, the condition of surface and artesian waters, emissions of pollutants from stationary sources, wastewater discharges into the sewage system and the Kazenny Torets River are monitored. In 2018, 1,042 samples were taken, 7,295 analyzes were performed, and no exceedances were detected.
As part of air protection in 2018, 384 measurements were made, no exceedances were detected. Together with Standard LLC (Selidove, Donetsk region), an inventory of emission sources from stationary sources was conducted. Permission for emissions from stationary sources was obtained for the period up to 28.12.2025.
The impact of the industrial waste landfill on the environment is monitored: radiation safety, research of soil samples, air research, no exceedances were detected.
Sampling and research in emissions of heavy metals from stationary sources, petroleum products in water in 2018 was carried out by NTF “Standard” LLC in Selidove. No excesses were detected.
EMSS in 2020 increased steel production by 6.8% to 63 thousand tons. In 2019, reduced steelmaking by 4.8% to 59 thousand tons.
